Notes: Identification - Yellow crust desolves in water. Found on ledge underside in zone of weathering pyrite.
The yellow crust is very fragile. An EDS analysis of a grain from this specimen is consistant with melanterite, FeSO4 · 7H2O .

Notes: Identification method unknown. This is the only known example of Parker Mtn. melanterite known to the author. The melanterite is the white crusty mineral.
